Brazil’s health ministry promised on Thursday to hire nearly 2,500 medical staff in the state of Rio de Janeiro as it scrambles to help local authorities deal with a funding crisis that has left hospitals under-staffed and ill equipped.

Last week the public health system in Rio collapsed. Media showed a woman giving birth on the sidewalk. Others with patients in corridors and long lines on the street waiting to enter the hospitals.
This is the country that spent millions on football stadiums for the World Cup. Priorities…….there aren’t any.
Some time back there was a video showing a Doctor punching the time clock at a hospital and then leaving. The level of corruption here has become debilitating to society.
