Rodeo Queens at Barretos – Largest Rodeo in Latin America.
“On the 15th of July, a group of 20 young men seated at a bar in the town of Barretos, state of São Paulo, found “Os Independentes”. Whoever wanted to join the club should be over 18 years of age, single and financially independent, as the intention of the group was to gather funds for assisting entities during the town`s anniversary celebrations. It was also established that the presidential term would last a year, but could be extended for a second year. For being the originator of the idea, Antonio Renato Prata is the first President.”

Several Brazilian bull riders are on the US rodeo circuit and are considered among the best in the World. North Americans cowboys participate at Barretos as well.

Famous singers from abroad have also participated at the Barretos event – Garth Brooks in 1998, Allan Jackson in 1999, Reba McEntire in 2000, A-ha and Gloria Gaynor in 2002 and Mariah Carey in 2008
