Sao Paulo today received 70% of the rain it normally receives during the entire month of September. Flooding there is not unusual during the rainy season.  Famous for its traffic jams…..add a lot of water and you get this.

FolhaOnline annouced today that Google in cooperation with FIAT will offer Street View for the city of São Paulo.   FIAT confirmed that they are in talks with Google.  Google did not comment one way or the other.  More news is expected next week.

Approximately 9,200 people stood in line in Mauá, SP, greater São Paulo, for six hours to register to take the test for 120 part-time jobs with the Mauá’s county government.  Salaries for the jobs range from R$835 to R$945 (US$385 to US$ 435) per month.

São Paulo was hit today by heavy rains resulting in serious flooding.  This happens every year….some years worse than others.    This year is one of the “worse than others”.
201 km of backed-up traffic as of 7:00 p.m.   Newspaper said this was a record!

I have been asked about traveling along the coast between São Paulo and Rio or vice-versa.   I have never taken this trip; however, I have taken the bus from Rio to Paraty.
