UPDATED: September 2012
Clothes are much cheaper to buy in the US than here in Brazil. I haven’t been back to the States since 2005 and I just may have to make a “buying run” before too long. My wife will be all for this as she complains every time she buys clothes here (she is Brazilian) that they are too expensive compared to the States. Women also have a much wider selection in the US than Brazil even though they might not be as stylish.
With the weak US$, not only clothes but other items as well are less expensive than Brazil.
I’ve added a clothing size chart. Brazil uses the European sizes….I think. Will have to check with my wife who is off traveling with her Mother in Minas Gerais.

Brazilian clothing measurement is similar to European but not the same. Although quality clothes are more expensive in Brazil, the selection is definitely broader than here in the States. I don’t know why in the world you’d think there’s more variety here. You’re way off on that.
P.S. I work with fashion in both countries.
Clothes for women are prettier in Brazil, no doubt. I live in the U.S. and go to Brazil every year. we rather buy fashionable items there. It’s sooo much nicer, though a little more expensive.
Peace corps in 1964 in Brazil? do you mean the CIA? THere were plenty of reasons the U.S. was in Brazil in 1964 and “peace” was farther from anything…
