The Tietê bus station has service to downtown via the Metro and to both airports.
You can usually purchase your tickets at the bus station; however, during holiday periods, buses may be full.

With the air traffic situation being as it is, taking the bus between the cities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro is a good option to consider. Prices range from 55.00 to 92.00 reais, which at today’s exchange rate is between US$30.00 to 51.00. The more expensive fare is for the ‘Leito” (bed bus). Take the cheaper bus early in the morning. You will get to see a good part of the cities of SP and Rio as well as nice country side on the trip.
- C.AR = normal bus with AC
- C.EXE = Executive bus
- Leito – bed bus
- Poltronas Livre = available seats

Thanks expatB and Jose!

We’ll be there in August, I don’t know if there’ll be any festivals then…
Hello!
I was wondering if the bus schedule is updated or not? are the prices and times still the same today? if not do you know where I can find the time and price list?
I would be happy to get a respond.
Best regards Hanna
