Brazil is a magnet. It attracts people from around the world. Mostly the under 30 crowd but occasionally one will meet older folks dreaming to leave behind the ‘old life’ and start anew here in Sambalandia.
Do you see yourself sitting on the beach enjoying the good life? The truth is most never find the good life in Brazil.
In an earlier post the two primary barriers (visa and language) were explained. If you are able to get by these two ‘firewalls’, then you must have some sort of plan or scheme to make a living.
Rio is full of backpackers willing to work for nothing and to work illegally. Thus, Rio is not the best place to start your ‘dream life’ in Brazil. If you have money, that is a different story. There are always opportunities in large cities and Brazil is no exception.
São Paulo is the business capital of Brazil, but São Paulo is not on the beach. It is a Chicago or Frankfurt in Brazil. Big, noisy, expensive….some would say crazy. Jobs there? Yes, if you are willing to work on a Brazilian salary. It all depends on your skills and education. Remember, 2 million plus Brazilians have left Brazil to work abroad. You need to ask yourself why?
